    Bangkok Cafe

At Bangkok Cafe each of the five sisters who work there is a chef, and authentic Thai cuisine infused with fresh herbs has been their specialty since 1994. Cooking skills learned in their homeland have served them well as Bangkok Cafe has been voted Reader's Choice Best Thai in Chicago's NW suburbs five years in a row. The Chicago Tribune gave them a Four Fork rating and said Bangkok Cafe was not to be missed. "The Hungry Hound", Metro Mix, as well as the Daily Herald have all sung the praises of these sister chefs of Bangkok Cafe.

Carlos & Carlos

Executive Chef Sergio Gutierrez Mora was born Michoacan, Province of Mexico in 1977, and came to the United States in 1993. He started working as a dishwasher in Chicago and through the years he spent a lot of time in different kitchens learning from the best.

He worked his way up in several high-scale restaurants like Brasserie T,M,K, Sola Restaurant, Park Grill, Nick and Toni's, LaNovita, landing finally at Capriccios Retaurant (one ofthe restaurants from The Montiel Group) in 2001.  Under the tutelage of then Executive Chef Eddy Montiel, Chef Sergio brought finesse and elegance, as well as great taste to his culinary art. In 2005, Chef Gutierez finally became an exectuive chef at Carlos & Carlos when the restaurant was located in the Metropolis building in Arlington Heights. The Chef was able to showcase his expertise by giving cooking classes at the Chef's Table for groups of 12 to 16 people every Sunday.

The Chef now enjoys his position at the new Carlos & Carlos at 27 W. Campbell Street, where he works his culinary magic and creates Pasta Fresca every day righ in front of diners. He also serves delightful dishes like Black Pasta, Shrimp Genovese, Osso Bucco, Cioppino, Salmon Crevettes, Filet Mignon al green peppercorn, etc. His cuisine is Northern Italian and French infused. Every day he works hard at finding the freshest produce, meats and seafood to make every meal a reason to return.

Award-winning Executive Chef Juan Luis Gonzalez, born in Mexico City to a family of restauranteurs, Gonzalez trained under his grandmother Paula and mother Rita who still influence his creativity in the kitchen today. He broadened his horizons to include Italian, American and Latin cuisines developing several eateries in the chicagoland area over the past 25 years. Gonzalez co-created the original Fuego Mexican Grill & Margarita Bar in Arlington Heights. In 2010, Juan Luis founded Mago Grill & Cantina, a regional authentic Mexican restaurant with locations in downtown Arlington Heights, at The Promenade Bolingbrook and at The Arboretum of South Barrington.

Peggy Kinnane's Irish Restaurant & Pub

Martin Jimenez has been the Executive Chef at Peggy's since 2007.  Before that he spent 12 years at Carlson Worldwide, where he became well versed in preparing a variety of cuisines.  That education and attention to detail is what drives Chef Martin.

Eardley Firth, native to the island country of Sri Lanka has been a renowned chef for 25 years.

Arriving to America in 1980 with many hopes and dreams, he quickly realized his passion and talent in the culinary arts. Eardley has worked for a number of well-known restaurants and organizations, including, Lettuce Entertain You, Fritz That’s It, Levy’s Organization, Randal’s For Ribs, Catch 35 and most recently The Clean Plate Club.  Serving as Executive Chef for Pete Miller’s Steakhouse and Davis Street Fish Market.  He also owned his own restaurant, Wellingtons’ in Downtown Chicago. Currently he is the Executive Chef of Salsa 17 where his knowledge and expertise in an array of cooking still is being put to use.

Eardley is not just a chef at work; he lives through his culinary visions.  He takes pride in what he does, never settling for mediocre, he always takes things to another level, and making sure any type of interacting with him (or his food) will be an unforgettable experience. He I loved by many through his dedication and strive for perfection; proving that the way to someone’s heart is definitely through their belly.

John Liambotis is the Executive Chef, owner and operator with his wife Sophie. Village Grill is a local family-owned breakfast and lunch diner. Serving home-cooked meals with generous portions at valued price. Known as "The Grill," it has been at its location for over 50 years.
