Document Destruction & Recycling Event, April 28

Clear out your clutter and participate in the Spring Sweep Recycling Day on Saturday, April 28. The event, coordinated by the Arlington Heights Special Events Commission, is from 9 a.m. until noon at Nokia Siemens Networks, 1475 W. Shure Drive, Arlington Heights.
The free event includes on site Document Destruction (up to 4 banker boxes of documents per vehicle), sponsored by Village Bank & Trust. Paper shredding will also be held at the Village Bank & Trust at 150 E. Rand Road, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Other items that can be recycled at the Spring Sweep Recycling event include:
- Bicycles, sponsored by Working Bikes
- Manual wheelchairs, metal canes, foldable walkers, sponsored by Wheelchairs for the World
- Gently used or new shoes and gym shoes, Sponsored by Share Your Shoes
- Pet needs (food bowls, cages, collars, food), sponsored by Buddy Foundation
- Eye glasses, sponsored by the Lions Club
- Flags, sponsored by the American Legion
- New or used school supplies and books, sponsored by Scarce
NO electronics, chemicals, paints or batteries will be recycled at the event.
The event will also include an Information Station where residents can get information on the Emerald Ash Borer, and other programs provided by the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County.
Participating in this event is a great way to clear your home of items, and to also “be green” and recycle instead of adding items to a landfill.
