National Night Out

Annual National Night Out Held Tuesday, August 7
Posted on 07/09/2018

National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, in North School Park, 410 N. Arlington Heights Road from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The National Association of Town Watch, Associa, Dietz & Watson, Package Guard and Ring sponsor this event nationally.

The Village of Arlington Heights event has received national recognition every year since 2005. Our event is compared to other events in jurisdictions with populations between 50,000 and 99,000. The Arlington Heights NNO celebration has moved up the rankings each year. In 2017, our event was ranked 7th nationally and the highest in Illinois for our category.

National Night Out will be bigger and better in 2018. The following are a small sample of what will be part of the event:

  • The Oscar Meyer Wienermobile will make it first ever appearance.
  • Live Demos to include: bite work and vehicle extraction by the Arlington Heights Police Department K-9s; motorcycle skills course by the Traffic unit officers; and a simulated Hazardous materials clean-up by the Arlington Heights Fire Department.
  • There will also be dozens of police representatives from the several of AHPD’s specialty assignments and units.
  • The Illinois Conservation Police will be bringing vehicles and an interactive display trailer.
  • The Arlington Heights Park District will provide free beverages and popcorn, food items available for purchase, children’s games, bounce houses, face painting, business expo and other fun activities.
  • Several new food trucks will be on site this year.

Coloring contest winners will be announced during the opening ceremony. The winning artwork will be on display at the Coloring with the Cops table.

There will be much more than what was listed above. Don’t miss this free, fun, family-friendly event.
